the new rooftop access album is going to be a cake of sound! dense and moist, zole.

tentative track list:

01. jeff graff
02. ezra
03. hats off to you, simon tempest
04. from the rooftops
05. a sharp approximation
06. form constant
07. dreamity
08. winterbell

track 7 may be split into parts scattered through the album, and the end perhaps combined with the intro of winterbell, though that probably means nothing to you cunts!

hmm
i really wish i could find the perfect band to join..
i kinda just want to join a straightforward indierock band, but i'd probably get bored of that. post-rock would be nice, but i'd keep expecting it to be like rooftop access. experimental is all well and good but sometimes i just want to play a song! and forget about metal because i just don't have the technical ability.
and spacerock would be absolutely great, but nobody seems to be into that anymore!

i just want a nice band of 3-5 people, with nice songs that occasionally veer into experimental/post-rock territory. maybe i'm looking in the wrong places!

i keep thinking of things to write in here while on my way to work, or while working, but then when i am finally on my lunch break, i forget what i wanted to write!

if anyone's interested, i've put some remix packs up for excellent universe. anyone who does a remix will get one in return!

Taste And Voice
The Excellent Universe

i've trimmed the multitracks down so they didn't take up so much space (just realised that flac compression would probably make this redundant anyway) but it shouldn't be too hard to see what goes where. both tracks are pretty straight as far as bpm goes, recorded to clicktrack etc.

also, if anyone wants a high quality version of the intro for 'the excellent universe', get it from the flac version of the track, available here:
http://rooftopaccess.bandcamp.com/
i didn't include it because it's essentially one live guitar track for the first 12 minutes.

i'm writing 'alt-country' stuff at the moment (or maybe country-ish post-rock?)

and the simplicity is kicking my ass

.. but i'm determined to write some awesome stuff.

i just need to learn how to sing, hehe.

since my 'pay for better quality' experiment failed, i've now made the usual bridge free in all formats! one condition though, if you download/listen, you must tell me what you think!

1. Pilot (8:43)
2. Sweetness Will Prevail (7:44)
3. The Usual Bridge, Part 1 (3:15)
4. The Usual Bridge, Part 2 (7:47)
5. Clo (2:32)
6. One In Three Pigeons Is A Robot (11:50)

this is something that i've been passively working on for a couple of years now. it was only when i finished the last track that i remembered that i had an incomplete ep of minimal electronic stuff!

it could be considered a 'single' from microleaps, most of the material on the ep was written around that time, though these tracks are a bit more 'dancey' than the songs on microleaps.

so here it is. free @ 128kbps, $5 for other formats!

Rooftop Access - Excellent Universe
01. Taste And Voice (7:23)
02. The Excellent Universe (18:47)

i'm pretty happy with it, considering i only spent about 6 hours on each track, and pretty much wrote each one left to right. which i guess is kinda weird for ambient post-metal.

good evening

if you have a spare 12 minutes (yes i know it's long) please listen to my new song in progress, it's going to be on the new rooftop access album. this song has been evolving over the past 4 months or so, and in the last couple of weeks i've been writing new sections for it, i recorded the last 5 and a half minutes of it yesterday and today.

it's fairly fragmented because i've worked on each section separately, the change at 7:04 won't be so abrupt in the final version and the beginning will be a little more cohesive rather than just fading in.

anyway here it is:

01. Poptori
02. Korus
03. Tip For Lights
04. The Diagonal Foot Movement
05. A Contraption
06. Mountains of the Moon (Digital)
07. Syntaxis v2.7

this is just a collection of stuff from before robo-tripper/pieces for triangulation (and a couple from just before i stopped writing electronic music). i put it on archive.org because i'm sick of weblabels refusing to use my cover art. maybe i'll put it somewhere else if i can be bothered, but i just want to put this out there, i've never put these tracks on any releases before and i think they're probably some of the best pieces i've written.
